It’s that time of the year again when the Long Beach Zetas gather to celebrate some of the most elite individuals in the community and organization at the 14th Annual R.O.O.T.S. Celebration.
The R.O.O.T.S. Celebration is a cultural and sorority heritage program designed to highlight the richness of our heritage and spotlight the efforts, achievements and success of individuals in our community and in our sorority. Join us as we “Remember Our Oath To Sisterhood” by honoring men, women and youth who continue to improve the quality of our communities by making significant impacts in the lives of others.
Our theme this year is “Honoring the Phenomenal Women of our Past, Present, and Future”
R.O.O.T.S. will be held at The Reef in Long Beach on February 28 at 12 p.m.

Check out the qualifications below:
Eligibility: Applicants must (a) a U.S. Citizen, female of African-American descent; (b) a graduating senior enrolled in a high school within Los Angeles County; (c) submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher / counselor / administrator from your school; (d) submit a fully developed, typed essay on the topic provided (approximately 500 words); and (e) have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. Winner must be present at the ROOTS Celebration Luncheon on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 to receive award.
Essay: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s founding principles are Scholarship, Sisterly Love, Community Service and Finer Womanhood. Using “Community Service” as one of your writing components; please write an Essay addressing the following question: “Explain what you are doing today to make a difference in your life, your families’ lives, and throughout your community, and how this has motivated you to seek higher education.”
Deadline: Friday, January 9th, 2015. Postmarks will not be sufficient.
Disbursement: The scholarship shall be applied towards 2015-2016 academic goals.
The ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. ~ Sigma Eta Zeta Chapter (Long Beach, CA) would like to invite you to “Soul” Bowl on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m at Cal-Bowl, 2500 E. Carson St., Lakewood, California.
Join us as we promote Prematurity Awareness Month and “Bowl for Babies.”

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Sigma Eta Zeta Chapter in Long Beach is hosting the 12th Annual Tassel for Teens Bike-a-thon & Fitness Walk.
Join us as we raise money to award scholarships to students who are looking to further pursue higher education and further their development in community and educational programs.
Donations are being accepted NOW and if you would like to participate in the walk you can download your own packet 12th Annual T4T Individual Fundraising Packet to raise awareness and funds.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on October 25th as we continue to enrich our community and provide our youth with a positive atmosphere.
